That was a very fun and informative read. In terms of comfort I find the infographic quite true. I’d prefer walking around the house barefoot as it makes me feel more comfortable. But then again there is the point of protecting your feet from all kinds of rough terrain when you go out. You wouldn’t want to go running around your neighborhood in just your feet. For all you know there could be broken glass here or there.
I have recently learned about barefoot running when a friend told me about it. At first, I could not believe why runners would risk running almost barefoot with their barely there shoes. Upon reading your post though, I can now understand why it would be best for our feet to run barefoot.
And yes, I also noticed how the time during gladiators in Greece they were only wearing thin footwear and yet, they are still fast at running. I am looking forward to using these newly introduced shoes when I run. Thanks.
I could agree more. The less shoe I have, the better I run. I am able to feel my foot strike and adjust accordingly. Since going minimalist, I have been injury free (22 months). Before then, I was injured every month. Thanks for your article. Nice Blog.
Why, then, do so many of the fastest, smoothest, most efficient runners on the planet (race-winning, elite marathoners) run in the Adidas Adizero Adios--a shoe that currently has ~10mm heel-to-toe drop and plenty of cushioning? Do they not know what they're doing?

I didn't know that even running shoes is not ideal. Actually, this is the first time I have heard about this and I've never join any barefoot marathons before. It sounds interesting and if it is truly better, then I would love to try it.

Nice post. Very informative, I don't know if barefoot is for everyone though.

Great post! I switched to vibrams last year myself and love them. used to have chronic knee pain, not anymore with the vibrams
I couldn't agree more with you. I myself am wondering why the shoe makers doesn't realize this problem and find a solution.
I always wear my running shoes whenever I would go running, but after coming across this article, I wouldn't mind going through a barefoot marathon.
Cool infographic! THanks for the share!

In track they won't allow me to run barefooted. Would it be bad for my body to run with shoes during track, then run at home barefooted?
Hi, fantastic and complete blog, I really like.
